My musical journey...

I began taking piano lessons at about 8 years old, from a great lady, Nadine Burt, in LaMirada, California.

In my mind, I took lessons forever- I think it was more like 4 years but I didn't retain much of music theory. 

I went to the snare drum at age 13, in the middle school orchestra and eventually bought my first drum kit when I was 14 or 15, and paid for it with a newspaper route.

Mom got a Silvertone classical guitar in 1969 from dad for Christmas. So this was always around the house and my brother Kevin and I tinkered with it often.

Hence, I'm comfortable with the drums, keyboards, and guitar, though not a master of any of them. 

I played drums in rock bands in high school and college. I have been a substitute guitarist, keyboardist, and drummer in several bands but most of the time I spend recording original music in my home studio.

I have won several awards for songs I've written, as well as having performed at and won the (then) Jimmy Dean/Colgate "Country Showdown" locally, advancing to the Region finals twice.
